AOT 5.0 – Governor Sanwo-Olu, Tijani, and Key Stakeholders Discuss Policies for Lagos Creative Economy

The Art of Technology Lagos (AOT) conference, in its fifth edition, concluded after a two-day session where public and private sector figures engaged in vibrant discussions aiming to shape the landscape of Lagos’s creative and tech economy.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, who hosted the event, commended the Eko Innovation Center for uniting visionaries, professionals, students, and enthusiasts to drive Lagos State and Nigeria’s tech and creative industries to new heights.

Under the theme “Creative Economy and a Digital Lagos,” this year’s gathering highlights the city’s commitment to innovation through the fusion of technology and artistic expression. Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the conference as a convergence point for leaders and innovators dedicated to steering Lagos into a global innovative hub.

During the conference, Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, emphasized Lagos State’s potential in utilizing science, creativity, and technology for human growth, urging collaboration and action among participants to leverage these tools for development.

Tubosun Alake, Lagos State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, highlighted the importance of data in the creative sector and the potential of technology to bolster growth in both Lagos State and Nigeria.

The event, spanning two days, explored the fusion of creativity and technology, providing platforms for creative tech entrepreneurs to pitch solutions, collaborative networking, and strategies to elevate the creative economy. Organized annually by the Eko Innovation Centre and sponsored by the Lagos State Government, AOT serves as a catalyst for addressing societal challenges through technology and innovation.
