Andrew Agbo Abu, Founder of Young Innovators of Nigeria and a respected digital transformation advocate, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Federal Capital Territory Chapter.
The election took place during the Chapter’s Annual General Meeting in Abuja, which gathered distinguished fellows, members, and technology sector leaders. Abu will lead the FCT Chapter for the next two-year term.
With over a decade of experience in digital skills development and ICT inclusion, Abu has been instrumental in driving tech education and innovation programs across Nigeria through his organization, Young Innovators of Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech, Abu expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and outlined his vision for the Chapter. “I am honored by this mandate and assure our elders, distinguished fellows, and members that we will work collectively to advance the NCS vision in the Federal Capital Territory,” he stated.
Abu emphasized that his administration would focus on comprehensive membership growth and deeper collaboration with both the private sector and government agencies. He also acknowledged the contributions of the immediate past Chairman and commended the Electoral Committee for conducting a transparent process.
Key priorities for Abu’s leadership include:
– Expanding membership and professional development programs
– Strengthening partnerships with government, industry, and academic institutions
– Enhancing NCS’s role in digital policy and innovation initiatives
– Promoting smart city concepts and digital transformation
– Creating a robust platform for ICT professionals in Abuja
