The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) takes decisive action by suspending the Total Child Computer and CBT Centre (TCCC), Abuja, for violating registration directives during the ongoing 2024 UTME registration exercise.
TCCC faced suspension for registering candidates using manually copied e-PINs instead of the mandated display of profile codes and vended e-PINs received on candidates’ phone screens. JAMB deemed this act a serious misconduct with the potential to cause mix-ups in candidates’ biodata and compromise sensitive information.

The board issues a stern warning to other Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, urging strict adherence to rules of engagement or face appropriate sanctions. JAMB emphasizes the importance of following guidelines to prevent identity mix-ups, mutilation of candidates’ details, and unnecessary litigation.
JAMB has directed that candidates visiting CBT centres for UTME registration must display their profile codes and e-PINs as received through the Board’s USSD (55019 or 66019) on their mobile phones. Failure to comply with this directive will result in non-registration.

This directive aims to address identity mix-up issues and prevent the manipulation of candidates’ details, ensuring a smooth registration process. The policy also serves to combat identity theft, a tool often employed by examination cheats globally.
JAMB had previously emphasized the significance of providing critical information on candidates’ phones during the UTME registration process in an advisory to prospective candidates. The board’s focus on full compliance by CBT centres underscores its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
