Stanley Jegede Foundation (SJF) Launches “US” Initiative to Tackle Educational Inequality in Kogi State

The Stanley Jegede Foundation (SJF) has officially launched the first phase of its Unschooled to Schooled (US) Initiative in Kogi State, as part of its broader mission to bridge educational inequality across Africa.

The initiative, announced in Abuja on Wednesday, aims to provide inclusive and equitable education opportunities for underprivileged children and youth. It includes scholarships, mentorship programs, teacher training, vocational education, and infrastructure development.

The initial rollout in Kogi State features direct financial support for students across seven institutions identified as most in need of urgent assistance.

Speaking on the project, Executive Chairman of SJF, Mr. Stanley Jegede, described the US Initiative as a “clarion call to action and a symbol of hope” for children who have been denied access to education due to financial hardship.

“This first phase in Kogi is a significant step toward our long-term goal of empowering the next generation through knowledge, mentorship, and opportunity,” Jegede said. “We are committed to ensuring that no child is left behind.”

The foundation emphasized that the initiative goes beyond academic funding. Through community partnerships and strategic collaboration with school administrators, the US Initiative will support the holistic development of its beneficiaries.

SJF will also supervise the disbursement of funds to ensure transparency and fairness in covering school fees and other educational costs.

With its commencement in Kogi, the US Initiative signals the Stanley Jegede Foundation’s unwavering commitment to access, equity, and transformation in Nigeria’s education sector.
